Thrive Block Guide (version 2.0)

All of our Snug themes come with custom blocks for the WordPress block editor that allow you to easily build and customise your pages. Our custom blocks can be used alongside the default blocks in WordPress.

If you aren’t familiar with adding our blocks to the block editor, we recommend checking out this tutorial.

Here are the blocks that are included with the Thrive theme:

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

The FAQ block can be used to display frequently asked questions. The answers are hidden but when the user clicks on the question, the answer is revealed.

This is what it looks like on the front end of the website:

You may find it easier to switch to editing mode to edit this block.

You can start by giving your FAQ block a title, but if you don’t need a title, just leave this blank.

To add an FAQ click the Add Question/Answer button to add a new frequently asked question.

Simply enter a question and then the answer to this question next to it.

To add another FAQ, just click Add Question/Answer again.

You can add as many frequently asked questions as you wish, and you can also rearrange the order of the frequently asked questions.

To move a FAQ, hover over the number beside the FAQ you want to move. Then hold the left button mouse button down and drag the FAQ to where you want it to be.

Overlapping images and text

The Overlapping images and text block allows you to display two images beside some text. You have the option to display the images on the left-hand side or the right-hand side of the text.

This is what it looks like with the images on the left:

And this is what it looks like with the images on the right:

Once you have added this block, you can select which side you would like the images on, add a title, some text and a link, as well as two images which will be styled to overlap as shown in the images above.

Testimonials

The testimonials block will display testimonials in a slideshow format. You can only use one testimonial block per page.

This is what it looks like on the front end of the website:

You may find it easier to switch to editing mode to edit this block.

Click the Add Testimonial button to add a testimonial.

Then enter the name of the person or business that has provided the testimonial, the testimonial itself, and an image to display beside it.

To add another testimonial, just click Add Testimonial again.

You can add as many testimonials as you wish. You can also rearrange the order of the testimonials.

To move a testimonial, hover over the number beside the testimonial you want to move. Then hold the left button mouse button down and drag the testimonial to where you want it to be.

Full-width image and text

The Full-width image and text block will display a full-width image with a block of text overlaying the image.

This is what it looks like on the front end of the website:

Firstly, you can choose whether you would like the text box to be on the left-hand side or the right-hand side of the screen. Then you can add a title, some text and a link, as well as the image you want to display in the background.

Featured Pages

The Featured Pages block can be used to display links for up to three URLs, whether they are internal or external.

This is what it looks like on the front end of the website:

Once you have added this block you will see that for each featured page you have the option to upload an image, add the text that you’d like to display on it, add in a link and then choose whether that link opens in a new tab or not.

Latest Blog Posts

The Latest Blog Posts block will automatically display the latest blog posts from your blog. By default, it will show 1 row of posts but you can change the number of rows that are displayed.  For best results, ensure that you have assigned a featured image to your blog posts. You can also add a call to action button at the bottom of this block.

This is what it looks like on the front end of the website:

Once you have added the block, select the number of rows you would like to show, and if you would like to add in a call to action link you can enter a URL and customise the text that shows on this link. If you don’t want a call to action link here, just leave the call to action link field empty.
