By default, WordPress shows your latest blog posts on the homepage of your website. However, you can change this so that your homepage is a static page.
Each of our themes featured a page template specifically for the homepage that allows you to completely customise it, so we recommend using a static page as your homepage.
To do this, start by creating a new page that will be your homepage. To create a new page, hover over Pages in the left-hand menu of WordPress and click Add New.
Give this page a title such as “Home”.
On the right-hand side of the screen you will see the Page Attributes tab. Open up this tab and from the drop-down list for the Template option, select Home Page.
When you’re done, click Publish to make this page live. You will need to publish this page before you can make it your homepage.
You’ll also need to create a page for your blog posts. So add a new page just like you did for the home page, call it something like “Blog”, but this time, you don’t assign a page template to the page. Again, make sure you publish this page so you can make this your blog page.
Once you have created your pages, hover over Settings in the left-hand menu of WordPress and click Reading.
On the reading settings page, you will see the Your homepage displays setting. For this setting, select the A static page option and then from the dropdown lists select the page that you would like to be your homepage and the page you would like to be your main blog page.
Once you’re done, click Save Changes at the bottom of the page.
